Whether found in a popular department store, an off-beat boutique, a consignment store or from a downtown sidewalk vendor, there is always jewelry for sale. It is all around us. Why do we enjoy wearing art? We wear it for our personal adornments, to make a statement as to who we are. We may wear it to follow superstitious customs or for remembrance of our loved ones, or because we love the way it makes us feel.
 A piece of jewelry might also symbolize our personal relationship with another person:
-- A wedding ring shows the world that you are married.
-- An engagement ring means, "I have given my heart to another and will soon marry".
-- A promise ring celebrates the relationship and can indicate that you are seriously involved with someone but not totally prepared to take the plunge just yet. |

Jewelry Styles
There are so many different styles of jewelry and materials to choose from. The most common materials are gold and silver. Then there are precious and semiprecious stones. Let's not forget about the glass beads and synthetic stones that are so popular.
 Different styles and types of accessories, be they necklaces, earrings, pins, broaches, bracelets or even belts, can affect the look you want to achieve.
A very bulky necklace, for example, may not be the right piece for a petite, small-boned woman. The necklace is more likely to be wearing her than vice-versa. The problem might be further compounded if the length, in addition to its bulk, is out of proportion for her small frame.
A simple piece of jewelry can make a statement without being too overpowering. It is especially elegant with that simple little black dress.
There are many ethnic influences in today's jewelry. They make terrific accent pieces as well as personal statements.
Fashion jewelry is really adds to your jewelry wardrobe. The pricing is typically more affordable than investment pieces. It is colorful and distinctive. You can choose the design and color scheme that matches your mood, highlights your wardrobe, and certainly brightens your day. |
