Labradorite
When I saw this gem stone at the gem show, I was amazed at its colors. The way light reflects off this gem stone made it almost look like a deep color opal even though the basic color of the gem stone is a deep silver gray.
The iridescence is the result of lamellar inter-growths resulting from a phase change on cooling. Its color changes according to the angle of the light in which the stone is being view at. The colors may include blue, green, yellow, and pink. The iridescence or play of colors is known as labradorescence.
Gemstone varieties of labradorite exhibiting a high degree of iridescence are called spectrolite.
Labradorite is an excellent gemstone for those seeking to lose weight as it balances and regulates metabolism.
The traditional properties for labradorite are alignment, spiritual connection, transformation, clarity, peace, progression, discernment
